In 1938 this truck was the first piece of equipment bought by the company. The unit has a 300 gpm pump and and a 500 gallon water tank. This truck served as the main pumper for the Salisbury area until 1954 when a larger pumper was purchased,however this unit remained in service as a second pumper untill 1973. At that time the 1938 pumper was used in its original condition as a parade and show truck.In 1976 the truck went under a rehab and was restored to its orginal condition including new paint and lettering.To date the 1938 pumper is still housed at the new fire station on ord street in Salisbury ,and is still used as a parade truck . 618 Engine 1 |
